The streets hum here. Sirens mix in with engine noise, people hurry, scream and yell. Can't hear them with their windows rolled up, but I am a proficient lip reader. My favorite place in the entire city is the water wall. It is not far from my apartment. I miss the country, I miss the wide-open sky, but I do love the lights and the sounds, if not always the smells of this metropolitan area.
